教室紹介　About us

The school
Kooka Kids English Houseは2004年4月に開校しました。鹿児島のお子さん達が少しでも英語に対して興味を持ち上達できるよう、お手伝いさせて頂くために開いた英語教室です。生徒の皆さんが英語のみの楽しい雰囲気の中でお友達と一緒に遊びながら自然に英語に触れ、慣れ親しむ空間です。

「クカ」って、どういう意味？
オーストラリアに生息するワライカワセミのことを英語でKookaburra（クカバラ）と言います。Kookaというワライカワセミの指人形を教室で使っています。

Australian Animals
クカキッズのクラス名はワライカワセミ以外、オーストラリアの動物をたくさん使っています。
コアラ（KOALA）やカンガルー（KANGAROO）はみんな知っているでしょうけど、ポッサム（POSSUM）ってご存知ですか。夜行性でかわいいですよ。最近、プラティプス（PLATYPUS）もよくテレビに出ていますね。卵を産む哺乳類で有名な（カモノハシです。有袋類がいっぱい生息しているオーストラリアですが、みんなウォンバット（WOMBAT）とワラビー（WALLABY）は知っているかな？飛べないけど非常に足が速くて、ダチョウの次に大きい鳥は何でしょう？それは、カンガルーと一緒にオーストラリアの国章に載っているエミュー（EMU）です。それぞれのリンクにクリックしてもっと勉強しよう。

I thoroughly enjoy various English activities with all my friends at Kooka Kids. We have been operating in Kamoike for four years now, and it is an absolute pleasure to see our students grow and learn in a fun environment.

"Hello､ for those of you I haven't met, my name is Gregory and I have been living and teaching in Kagoshima for three and a half years.
I have been a teacher internationally and in Canada for about thirteen years. I enjoy the climate and people of Kagoshima and also have become accustomed to life in Japan.
I enjoy water sports, reading and playing with my two daughters. I am happy to join the staff here at Kooka Kids and will do my best to cultivate your child's proficiency in English.
